Love. Love always inspires me.
I’m so grateful that I have the opportunity to introduce you my dear friend, photographer Aleksandra and her work, Indigo Blu Weddings. I’ve been watching her learning and growing from the start and realized she can create wonderful, emotional and edgy photos, I really enjoy how she plays with perspective and composition, making photos not usual and most of all how she captures unique moments, love.
There are some questions I always wanted to ask her, and I’m sharing her beautiful answers with you.
When and how did you find out you want to be a photographer?
I realized I want to be a photographer in my early 20s. I started to look at the world and the things around me from a different perspective, with a different point of view and had an urge to document it.
What sort of work are you specialized in?
I’m specialized in wedding photography. Love is something that moves me, my inspiration and my weak side, so wedding and couples photography were the closest to that. I love couple stories, the atmosphere at the shooting, and love in the air. 🙂
How would you describe your style?
My style is pretty simple. I like spontaneous photos, moments caught in time. I try to tell stories with my photos and make them look as casual and natural as possible.
What inspires you and gives you an idea when you photograph weddings?
Love. Love always inspires me. Good days and bad days. Life stories. Nature. Books. Paintings. I can find inspiration in everything.
What do you love most about capturing faces and what is most difficult?
I love capturing emotions, it’s something that gives a soul to every photo. I don’t find anything really difficult. For some of my clients may be hard to get relaxed in front of the camera, so sometimes that can be a “problem”, but we always fix it with a good joke and we’re ready to go. 🙂
Which photographers influenced you, and how did they influence your thinking, photographing, and career path?
There are so many absolutely amazing photographers that I look up to, so it’s hard to choose only a few. International wise I love Ed Peers, Gabe McClintock, A Fist Full of Bolts- a wedding photography collective, while here I adore Marko Marinković, Saša Tomić, Petar Jurica, etc. It amazes me how every photo of these amazing authors has a bit of their soul and heart in it. You can really feel it! It’s wonderful.
What are your plans for the future?
As in everything in life, I only want to get better in what I do. I want to keep the sparkle I have now for many years. Indigo Blu is my alter ego, so I want to keep feeding it with love. I want to keep growing, spiritually and as a photographer. Being a photographer is sometimes a risky business, you never know what and how much you’re gonna get. There are “high seasons” and “no season” work seasons, so it’s definitely not a regular job. But that’s what I like about it, every day is different, you get to visit magical places, meet amazing people, and collect memories for life, so I just want to continue doing that. I once read “Look what people photograph, and you’ll know what they’re afraid of loosing”. Well, it’s pretty clear in my case. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did.
