Bienvenido a Miami – What to see in Miami
It’s been almost two weeks since I came from Miami, and finally, I’m collecting all the memories together.
I used to edit photos immediately I came from vacation or trips, but lately, I found this really hard. It’s like I really don’t want to accept the fact that vacation is over, and I have to go to work. So I delay the editing and writing. 🙂 It’s even harder when the weather on your vacation is just awesome, but you have to go back to freezing windows on your car.
So, that’s how it was. My awesome cousin Klara, was working in Maine for a whole summer. In the end, she had some time to travel around, and her final destination was Miami. So I had that crazy idea. ‘What if I come to Miami, and we meet there and then we go home together?’. And that’s exactly how it happened. We were there for 6 days, a little too little to see everything I wanted, but just enough to realize Miami is the place to be. 😀 I’ll definitely come again someday.
Here is my planning list: Best places to visit in Miami … and down below is what I’ve actually seen.
American Airlines Arena
601 Biscayne Blvd
The Arena is home to the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association. It’s located in Downtown Miami along Biscayne Bay.
Art Deco District
1001 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach
The Miami Beach Architectural District is a U.S. historic district located in the South Beach neighborhood of Miami Beach, Florida. The area was well known as the district, that Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace resided in a mansion in Ocean Drive. It is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Sixth Street to the south, Alton Road to the west, the Collins Canal and Dade Boulevard to the north. It contains 960 historic buildings.
THE VILLA CASA CASUARINA – FORMER Versace Mansion
1116 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach
Versace Mansion is now called The Villa Casa Casuarina. You can eat great Italian food at Gianni’s or stay in luxurious apartments.
Bayfront Park, Biscayne Bay
301 Biscayne Blvd
Biscayne Bay is a lagoon that is approximately 56 km long and up to 13 km wide. On Biscayne Bay, you can find Bayside Marketplace and Bayfront Park, as well as many other parks.
BEACHES
Miami offers miles of white sand, ocean surf, landscaped dunes, and funky lifeguard stands. Lovely 🙂
South Beach, also nicknamed SoBe, is a neighborhood in the city of Miami Beach, is a trendy place to stay, have fun and get some tan.
PAMM – Pérez Art Museum Miami
1103 Biscayne Blvd
The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is a contemporary art museum. It looks absolutely amazing from outside. Find out more about it on PAMM.
Lummus Park
Ocean Drive, Miami Beach
The park is on the eastern side of Ocean Drive, from 5th to 15th Streets. When redesigned and improved in the mid-1980s, it became part of the project for the redevelopment of what is now the Miami Beach Architectural District of South Beach. The park is a great backdrop for photo shoots, which happen frequently, and it initially became the location for many scenes from the television series “Miami Vice“.
Little Havana
Calle Ocho
Little Havana (Spanish: La Pequeña Habana) is a neighborhood of Miami, Florida, United States. Home to many Cuban immigrant residents, as well as many residents from Central and South America, Little Havana is named after Havana, the capital and largest city in Cuba. Little Havana is the best-known neighborhood for Cuban exiles in the world. It is characterized by its street life, with restaurants, music and other cultural activities, political passion, and great warmth amongst its residents.
So this is what we have seen in Miami. We also went to Everglades and on a road trip to Key West, which was totally amazing.
